• When should I arrive for my appointment? Should I plan on arriving early?
Please arrive as close as possible to your scheduled appointment time. We allocate an appropriate amount of time for each type of treatment so there's no need to arrive early.
• Can I cancel my appointment? Do you have a no show policy?
If you must cancel your appointment, we appreciate at least 24 hours notice. If an individual does not show up for a scheduled appointment for a single treatment, we will charge their credit card for 50% of the treatment price. If the appointment is for multiple treatments, we will charge their credit card for the full value of their treatments.
• I've never had a massage before. What should I expect?
• I'm shy and uncomfortable taking all of my clothing off for a massage. What should I do?
We want you to be, above all, comfortable here at Nine Stones. It is helpful, but not necessary to remove all of your clothing for a massage. You may keep on whatever clothing you wish.
• I have certain medical problems. Will they prevent me from getting a massage?
• What should I do after my massage / facial to retain the benefits for as long as possible?
One of the most important things you can do is to drink plenty of water after your treatments. Most of our treatments are detoxifying, and water helps to flush the toxins out of your system.
• Is tipping customary/necessary?
Tipping at Nine Stones is completely discretionary and not at all required. If, however, you'd like to thank your therapist for her efforts, a gratuity will be gratefully accepted.
• Where is Nine Stones? How do I get there?
• I'd like to organize a group of my friends for a special time. How do I go about arranging it?
Groups and special occasions are a specialty at Nine Stones. Because we want to give you the best service possible, please let us know well in advance of your plans. We will work with you to ensure that your group experience will be one to remember. Click here for more information.
• What product lines do you carry?
We proudly carry Dr.Hauschka, Naturopathica, G.M. Collin and SkinCeuticals and many other fine products. Each line of products that we carry has specific benefits and uses. Please call or visit us to discuss which of these fine product groups will be best for you.
• Do you offer gift certificates? What is a customary treatment or amount?
• Do your gift certificates expire?
No, Nine Stones' gift certificates never expire.
• Help! I've lost my gift certificate.
Please call us. We maintain a record of all of our gift certificate sales and can probably find your records.
• What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cash, traveler's checks and personal checks with proper identification. Sorry, but we cannot accept Discover cards.
• Why do you ask new clients to fill out such a comprehensive questionnaire?
It helps us to ensure that you receive the best treatment. Because some bodywork therapies are contraindicated for certain medical conditions, it will help us avoid making your condition worse rather than better.
• Will I have a chance to discuss my specific situation with my therapist / aesthetician?
Of course. We encourage you to talk with your therapist/aesthetician about any concerns you may have in a private environment so that she can modify your treatment to give you the maximum benefits.
• What's the difference between Nine Stones and other day spas?
We do not offer any services such as haircutting or coloring that are usually offered in full service salons. We concentrate on treatments that help you look and feel your best. And at Nine Stones, we pride ourselves on maintaining an environment that is both tranquil and appealing. We want you to feel at home here.
• What does Nine Stones mean? Where did the name come from?
Please click here for more information on our name, our history and our guiding philosophies.
• Are your therapists licensed? What sort of training and experience have they had?
All of our therapists are state licensed massage therapists and/or licensed aestheticians. All have had an extensive education and training in a variety of bodywork modalities. They work here at Nine Stones because they embody our philosophies and principles. We are members of AMTA, and are constantly adding to our knowledge through continuing education.
• Do you offer any parking?
Yes, there is parking for up to three vehicles at our front door. These spaces are clearly marked. If those spaces are filled, though, please don't park in the other spaces; they belong to other businesses.
